A good number of malpractice claims result from staff errors. Good
communications between attorney and staff are essential. This course
will examine the most common complaints from both attorneys and
staff, and provide sound suggestions for the changes to make which
will have the greatest positive impact both on interpersonal relationships,
and on the accuracy of client work.
Conquer Catastrophe: Technology Tools You Can Use to Keep Practicing
in the Event of a Disability (1 hour)
Chances are that you or someone you know will have need for resources
to assist in practicing while disabled at some point during a professional
career. A lawyer struck with an injury, illness, or traumatic event
must develop a personal approach to maintain a position or practice.
This session is designed to educate as to the resources and tools
available for every type of disability. If you don’t need this information
right now, you or a colleague or loved one probably will in the
future.
Desktop HR: Managing Personnel in the Information Age (1 hour - Not yet submitted for CLE in PA)
Most small practices don’t have the necessary resources for a full-blown
human resources department, but you can obtain many of the benefits,
without the expense, by using easy and innovative tools on the Internet.
From employment web sites to virtual assistants, from payroll to
telecommuting, from policies and procedures to staff monitoring,
this session will cover the best tools available for solos and small
firms, plus the ethics of using them.
